Nineteen states. Thirty-one actions. One message: Everyone deserves access to clean, affordable energy.
Fossil fuel utilities are blocking the transition to clean renewable energy and ruthlessly profiting off of the American people, 27% of whom cannot pay their energy bills. Monopoly utility companies hike up their rates while spending their money on energy sources that are unreliable, expensive, and burning up the planet.

Monopoly utility companies hike up their rates while spending their money on energy sources that are unreliable, expensive, and burning up the planet.
That’s why local groups with People’s Action Institute and 350 Network Council just completed a powerful week of action to demand:
- Reliable and affordable energy for all.
- Transition to 100% clean renewable energy.
- Energy systems run by and for the people — democratic ownership and decision-making for energy generation & distribution
The week of action is just one of the many organizing stories from around the People’s Action network this summer. All across the country, our member groups are moving powerfully with community members and allies to show the impact of community organizing behind a clear vision for the future. Together, we’re building the future we want–a country where everyone, of every race and background, had their needs met and the opportunity to thrive.

On August 14, we cohosted a livestream event Social Security Works on the progressive vision for 2025 and beyond, with U.S. Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA 07), leader of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and People’s Action members from across the country. Watch as we discuss the progressive legislative vision for our country, the threats we face from the corporate plot to upend our democracy, and what we can do to build the future we want. This event builds on the conversation our members had with U.S. Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-IL 03) on July 30 in a Spanish-language livestream.
