Fundamentals of Organizing This two-part training is held quarterly and has an emphasis on building relationships grounded in mutual self-interest that balances an expansive sense of how a multiracial democracy should operate and a long-term vision for the world with the realities of building power in the world as it is today.

Congratulations to San Francisco Rising and San Francisco Rising Action for 14 years of building power for working-class communities and communities of color in the Bay Area!

Bay Area community members, allies and progressive elected officials came together at their Hustle and Heart gala on March 28 to celebrate the 14th anniversary of the San Francisco Rising Alliance and its sister poltiical organization, the San Francisco Rising Action Fund.

The event raised money and celebrated the many of accomplishments of both former Executive Director Emily Lee, who led the organizations for eight years, and new Executive Director Celi Tamayo Lee.

Both organizations then jumped right back into action, with the SF Rising Action Fund working to endorse candidates for the November election, and the SF Rising Alliance t marching on May Day with the Bay Area Essential Workers Alliance and others to demand a people’s budget for San Francisco that benefits workers and low-income families. Long live international solidarity!
