Tenants, students and workers in Nevada can all celebrate this month as the Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada (PLAN), part of the People’s Action Institute network of grassroots groups locked in multiple victories in this year’s state legislative session, which ended on June 3.

The first measure, AB 121, will increase transparency in the rental housing market by forcing landlords to disclose arbitrary rental fees, and offer payment options without fees.

AB 420 will require school districts and charter schools to publish an annual report on the use of force by school police, including chemical and electronic deterrents and batons.

AB 96 will benefit workers and everyone who struggles with rising temperatures, by requiring municipalities to create shaded areas and drinking water stations.

SB 260 will require employers to offer personal protective equipment (PPE) to workers and halt outdoor operations when the air quality index (AQI) exceeds 201, endangering workers’ health.
