In early June, the Duluth City Council voted down Duluth Right to Repair, which would require landlords to either fix or pay for repairs they need within a 14-day window, instead passing a a weaker “Landlord Ordinance” that allows landlords to delay and defer repairs.

However, since Duluth Tenants had already gathered over 6,000 signatures in support of the initiative – well more than the 5,000 needed – Right to Repair will now appear on the ballot in November.

“From now until November, Duluth Tenants will be out every day, building on our momentum, ensuring voters know what’s at stake: the chance to fix what’s broken, not just in our homes, but in the system that has failed renters for too long,” said Dyanna Grondahl, lead organizer of Duluth Tenants for TAMN.
