Connecticut Citizen Action Group (CCAG) members were amongst the hundreds of concerned CT-05 constituents who attended U.S. Rep. Jahana Hayes’ “Budget Breakdown Town Hall” in Avon on March 9, and at a rally with U.S. Senator Chris Murphy on March 15.

U.S. Rep. Jahana Hayes (CT-05), Connecticut’s first Black woman Representative and 2016 National Teacher of the Year from Waterbury, hosted a “Budget Breakdown” Town Hall to explain the deep cuts planned by the Trump administration and Congressional Republicans to Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and SNAP, and fielded questions from veterans, retirees and laid-off government workers concerned about the harms these cuts will cause to their families.

“Energy and Commerce want to slash $880 billion dollars, and there’s no way that can happen if they don’t cut Medicaid,” she explained to constituents.

CCAG members were also in full force at a March 18th “Save Medicaid!” rally in Hartford with U.S. Senator Chris Murphy.
