| Trump needs a lot of help to put his and his advisors’ bad ideas into action. The institutions that provide that help are what we call “pillars.” At any time, they can choose to take their support away. If enough of them do that, the regime’s power collapses. Corporations are a pillar of this administration’s anti-worker billionaire agenda. Chipping away at that pillar has already weakened them: In Minnesota, after federal agents’ occupation of Minneapolis prompted what many call a city-wide general strike, 60 corporate leaders sent a letter to the president. They called for de-escalation, and soon after the commander leading the operation reassigned. In Arizona, a coalition of CEOs, moved by a year-long grassroots boycott of the state, helped kill a state effort to strip birthright citizenship. If we knock this pillar down, the rest will fall.
