Every week, People’s Action shares actions you can take online and with our member groups

This week, people across the country are joining together with one simple message:

We’re ready to Dump Big Tech.

Are you in?

We’re sick of watching fossil fuel-powered data centers wreak havoc on our communities. We’re being forced to cover their energy costs and rationing water so they can use it all–and spew pollution that makes global warming worse. Meanwhile, we watch the Pacific Northwest burn, flash floods drown the South and the Midwest, and heatwaves devastate the whole country.

In the meantime, tech companies are raking in billions and donating hundreds of millions to buy our elections.

People’s Action Institute is mobilizing with the Athena Coalition, Make the Road States, and others to demand that our elected officials dump Big Tech.

Saturday: Deep Canvass for Democracy
At a time when so many people feel disconnection, distrust and uncertainty, our ability to engage across differences isn’t just a skill – It’s how we save our democratic norms.

Deep canvassing is a tool that has proved we can build across differences and win the things we need in our lives. It uses curiosity and storytelling to give people a new perspective and energy to fight for change.

Whether you want to deepen connection as a community leader, neighbor or within your own family, join People’s Action Institute this Saturday to learn how to deep canvass.
Are You Ready for Labor Day?
People are stretched. Groceries or rent. The doctor or the electric bill. Tradeoffs that should not have to be made, and the feeling that no one in power is actually listening. On and around Labor Day, organizations across the country will host Solidarity Schools, actions, canvasses, and nonviolent action trainings to build and practice the skills needed to defend each other’s rights, stand up to the forces trying to roll back everything working people have won, and advance a vision for a country that works for workers instead of billionaires.

Join a mass call this Thursday to find out how to get involved.
Tell Climate Week NYC: Dump Corporate Polluters as Sponsors
Climate Week NYC (one of the biggest climate events of the year, bringing movement and global leaders face-to-face) has allowed Edison Electric Institute to become a sponsor. This dirty energy industry group has lobbied against EPA pollution limits, tried to stop rooftop solar incentives and compensation for homeowners, funded front groups to block public power and community-owned renewable energy, and much more.

Tell Climate Week NYC: This should not be a space for polluters buying credibility. Dump EEI as a sponsor.
