Every week, People’s Action shares actions you can take online and with our member groups
You’re tuned in. You read our emails; you stay up to date on the news. You know what’s happening right now: The powerful few are trying to pick their voters instead of letting us choose our leaders. But too many people are tuning out. Some are cynical, others are overwhelmed and frustrated. And if they give up on voting, they’re the ones who get hurt. People’s Action Institute is working to ensure the 2026 midterms have such massive turnout that they’re far too big to steal. The first step? Join People’s Action Institute’s Deep Canvass for Democracy training on Saturday, July 25, from 1–4 p.m. Eastern. It’s a virtual session you can join from anywhere. You’ll learn how to help people connect what they care about to the ballot box. You’ll practice helping someone rediscover their own self-interest in voting, know how to vote, and trust that their vote will count. And you’ll leave with a network of people in your community ready to do this work together. The more people turn out to vote, the harder it is for a greedy few to undermine a safe and secure election. The better we understand what people need, the more we can turn out to the polls. But first, we need dedicated volunteers like you having conversations like these.

Tell Congress: Fund People, Not War This week, Congress is working to rush through a slate of bills before leaving D.C. for a five week recess. On the list are 3 combined bills that would send $1.5 trillion of your dollars to fund war. You know what we could do with $1.5 trillion? We could build millions of affordable homes. We could end medical debt. We could fund SNAP for over a decade. Congress is choosing war budgets over working families’ needs. We’ve made it easy for you to take action against all 3 bills. Add your name today!
Justice for Lorenzo and Johan Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and Johan Sebastián were both beloved members of their communities killed by ICE on their way to work. This Saturday, join or host one of many nationwide vigils to honor them and their families, and demand accountability. You can find a full list of existing vigils or sign up to host your own (there’s even a toolkit to help you). Get more details and the full list of ways you can help.
Stop Data Centers and Big Tech Our energy bills are through the roof. Across the country, we are facing droughts and potable water is scarce. Big tech AI data centers are taking over our countryside. While our families suffer and taxpayers foot the bill, tech corporations are raking in billions and donating hundreds of millions to try to buy our elections. Instead of creating jobs, big tech is building AI to take jobs away, undermine teachers, and mess with our kids. These same corporations are helping the federal government track our every move. People’s Action Institute is joining a national Dump Big Tech Week of Action in August. Find out how to get involved!
Tell Climate Week NYC: Dump Corporate Polluters as Sponsors Our air should be safe to breathe. But that hasn’t been the reality for more than a third of the people in America this past week. Extreme wildfires fueled by the climate crisis are billowing smoke across the midwest and the East coast, putting people at risk. Yet Climate Week NYC (one of the biggest climate events of the year, bringing movement and global leaders face-to-face) has allowed Edison Electric Institute to become a sponsor. This dirty energy industry group has lobbied against EPA pollution limits, tried to stop rooftop solar incentives and compensation for homeowners, funded front groups to block public power and community-owned renewable energy, and much more. Tell Climate Week NYC: This should not be a space for polluters buying credibility. Dump EEI as a sponsor.
