Every week, People’s Action shares actions you can take online and with our member groups
We did it. May Day 2026 went down as the most widespread May Day mobilization in U.S. history. Over 5,000 events across all 50 states, 570+ organizations, and millions of working people taking to the streets, walking out of schools, and shutting down workplaces. From West Virginians playing drums and horns in the street to Coloradans calling for an end to corporate tax loopholes, from protesters shutting down the New York Stock Exchange to students walking out in Chicago, we showed the billionaire class what people power looks like. Now, we need to take that power from the streets to the ballot boxes. For a limited time, your gift to help turn out progressive voters in key districts will go TWICE as far, with a $1-for$1 match! The billionaire class knows: real change happens in the streets AND at the ballot box. That’s why just days before May Day, the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act. They want to silence voices with the power to stop them. We’re fighting back, and we proved on May Day that we can win. Thanks to generous supporters like you, we’ve already raised enough to phone bank and reach 1,104 voters! That’s a huge help for this week’s phone bank calling folks in PA-07, where Trump won by just 3 points and Democratic candidate for the House Susan Wild lost by only 4,000 votes in 2024. This is winnable. But we need to reach every voter in this key district in the mid-terms. But we still need to raise enough for our upcoming phone banks in PA-07 to launch 50,000 dials and reach 17,000 voters. Luckily, one of our board members coordinated a group of folks who are donating their own funds to MATCH every dollar you give, from now until the end of May, DOUBLING your impact. Can you chip in to help us reach our goal? Donate $11.76 to reach Donate $23.53 to reach Donate $58.82 to reach As People’s Action Executive Director Sulma Arias said, “Our families come first – not the greed of billionaires. Food, housing, health care – all our basic needs – are unaffordable because billionaires have picked our pockets and rigged the system. May Day is our day to demand immediate solutions to the cost-of-living crisis for the working families who work shoulder to shoulder to try and support their families.” We demanded solutions. From now until November, we demand fair elections and elected officials who put people over profits. P.S. The match won’t last forever, and neither does our window to reach voters in PA-07. Donate now and your gift goes TWICE as far.

TOMORROW: Phone Bank PA-07 We live in the richest country in the world, but working people can’t afford groceries, rent, or health care. The game is rigged. We’re done playing by those rules. This phone bank is about talking with voters, hearing what they’re up against, and building momentum to elect working people to Congress. We need leaders who will actually fight for us. R.S.V.P. to join phone banks tomorrow – or another event May 14!
Learn How Data Centers Are Impacting Public Schools Communities across the U.S. are organizing to strengthen our local public schools, making them healthier and more resilient in the face of climate change. Chicago schools are starting to install solar power. The El Paso Independent School District passed a resolution committing to carbon neutrality across the district by 2050. Our next quarterly “Our Schools Our Power” meet up focuses on how data centers are affecting schools and what communities can do to fight back. RSVP Today
