| We are 28 days out from the election that decides whether or not we hold Trump accountable, put an end to the GOP’s attacks on our health care, and stop funding unnecessary wars. In just the last week, we’ve seen the Trump administration take actions to suppress the vote: In a Time magazine interview, Trump refused to rule out declaring a state of emergency in the lead up to the midterms, or invoking the Insurrection Act. And in a court filing response to a DNC lawsuit, the Department of Justice did not deny that the Trump administration has considered any plans to seize or inspect ballots, voting machines or other election materials during the 2026 midterms. Trump’s doing this to stoke fears and cause chaos and confusion. The truth is that he has no authority over the election. Ballot machines, voter rolls, and polling places are owned and run by states and counties. The federal government doesn’t possess the machinery an emergency order would purport to “take over.” We’re breaking down what you can do to push back against his attempts to subvert the election tomorrow night!
