| Billionaires are stealing from us. While our communities faced soaring costs for health care, housing, utilities, and food, Republicans in Congress spent the summer ramming through a 10-year budget that guts Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, and clean energy jobs—all to bankroll tax cuts for billionaires and fund Trump’s attack on our freedoms and our communities. Now, Congress must pass an annual spending bill by September 30 or the government will shut down. This isn’t just about avoiding a shutdown—it’s about whether Democrats will hold the line or cave. Unlike the summer’s budget, the appropriations bills require 60 votes in the Senate, which means at least seven Democrats must go along for Trump to win.
