| EVENT(S): Katrina 20 When Hurricane Katrina made landfall, it stretched 144 miles wide—a storm that changed the Gulf South forever. Twenty years later, Katrina 20 invites people everywhere to honor the resilience of survivors and join the movement to fight for climate justice. From August 23–31, the Katrina 20—a coalition of grassroots leaders, cultural institutions, and advocates across Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama—are hosting a week-long series of cultural, educational, and healing events. | EVENT(S): Labor Day Actions This Labor Day, working people are doing more than firing up the grill—we’re firing up our movement. Billionaires are looting our economy, destroying our democracy, and even building private armies to threaten our communities. Just like any bad boss, the way we stop the takeover is with collective action. Working people are rising up to stop the billionaire takeover–not just through the ballot box or the courts, but through building a bigger and stronger movement.
