We are throwing out the rule book on candidate forums.
The 2020 election must respond to the needs of people, not dark money and wealthy corporations. This election is happening from the grassroots up.
It all starts with People's Action presidential candidate forums in Iowa, New Hampshire, Michigan, and Nevada anchored by our local member organizations and by Student Action.
BUT THESE FORUMS AREN'T ABOUT THE CANDIDATES.
They are about the people.
WHAT TO EXPECT
One rule we are enforcing at the forums: no stump speeches allowed. Candidates will be invited onstage for real conversations with everyday people about solutions to the struggles facing the multiracial working class.
WHAT WILL WE ASK ABOUT?
You’ll hear from family farmers, first-generation immigrants, and workers being paid poverty wages about:
- Improved Medicare for All
- 100% Just and Clean Energy for All
- Homes Guarantee
- Free College for All
We'll be telling our stories and asking presidential candidates to commit to partnering with us to enact our platform, if elected.
DON'T JUST TALK ABOUT IT, ORGANIZE FOR IT
People aren't just building our platform: they are committing to vote, volunteer, and give money to enact our platform, run a Movement Politics campaign that puts people before donors, and engage in Movement Governing to co-govern with grassroots community organizations.
