THE WHITE HOUSE MUST ACT NOW TO ENSURE TENANTS' RIGHTS

The Biden administration, following the leadership of people who have been impacted by decades of failed or lacking housing policy, must take swift action to enshrine federal protections for tenants.

The Corporate Plot to Upend Democracy

In our new report, People's Action and Dēmos team up to reveal how corporations and the ultrarich are spending millions to derail President Biden’s Build Back Better plan.

We zero in on who is spending big to stop the Biden plan in key sectors: taxes, drug pricing, healthcare, housing, the environment, and immigration.

At the same time, all across the country, People's Action members are taking this message to the doorsteps of corporations to tell them we’ve had enough.

In this Build Back Battle, the people will win!

Our North Star
is our shared vision
for a just future

Right now, 105 million people face eviction because of COVID-19. That's why we're calling for a National Tenants' Bill of Rights, based on what millions of tenants tell us they need, to confront this crisis and build the foundation for safe, sustainable and permanently affordable housing for everyone.

AN END TO CHILD POVERTY IS WHERE WE START

The Child Tax Credit, which sends families as much as $300 per child every month, can cut child poverty in half. That's why it should be permanent. But it's only the start of what we can do together.

People's Action demands Congress create millions of good-paying, sustainable jobs and resist attempts to weaken President Biden's $4.7 trillion effort to #BuildBackBetter.

Take Action

END THE OVERDOSE CRISIS, END THE DRUG WAR

For fifty years, our government spent billions on a failed War on Drugs. The result? More preventable overdose deaths than ever. People's Action demands a new approach that saves lives. There is a better way.

GROUNDBREAKING RURAL AND SMALL-TOWN ORGANIZING

Relief, Recovery, and Reimagination

The COVID-19 crisis makes it clear that our economic and political systems don’t take care of anyone but big corporations and the wealthy few–and that's just as true in rural America as it is in big cities.

As the organization running the largest progressive organizing project in the country, People's Action just released its vision for Relief, Recovery, and Reimagination for rural communities and small towns.

Canvassing That Works

People’s Action recently announced the dramatic results of an organizing experiment in small-town America, revealing that a new “deep canvassing” model can effectively counter the right’s use of strategic racism.

YOU DID THIS!

A multiracial, multigenerational, working-class coalition overcame those who want to divide us. Together, we defeated Trump.

PEOPLE'S ACTION PODCASTS

To See Each Other

To See Each Other is a documentary podcast series that complicates the narrative about rural Americans in our most misunderstood, and often abandoned, communities. George Goehl travels to Michigan, Iowa, New Jersey, North Carolina and Indiana to reveal how small town folks are working together in fights for everything from clean water and racial justice to immigrant rights and climate change.

The Next Move

The Next Move is back for a second season of eight new episodes! Our host, George Goehl, digs in with some of the best organizers he knows to answer a simple question: what is organizing?

George's guests include Alicia Garza, who long before she became a household name by cofounding Black Lives Matter, was knocking on doors and building coalitions in the neighborhood. And Stephen Roberson, Organizing Director at Community Voices Heard in New York City, a fifty-year veteran of the craft, who started with the United Farm Workers when he was just nineteen. He's been organizing ever since.

Season Two builds on George's groundbreaking series of conversations with folks like Maurice Mitchell from the Movement for Black Lives and Working Families Party, and The Sum Of Us author Heather McGhee. All episodes are available via Apple iTunes and everywhere you listen to podcasts.
